Hello Everyone and welcome to the first blog of Runinja's posts! In today's blog I would be talking about how I overcame 1900 USCF!
The tournament that I played was at SDCC at Balboa Park. It was a 6 round Swiss tournament with the time control being 90+30. I was playing in the U1950 section as my rating being 1810. The other section below this one was U1800 so I would probably be one of the lowest in the section. However, there was a big surprise at the end of all this hard work!
Round 1:
For round 1 I took a bye...
Round 2:
Well after that game I knew I would be close to the top! Also at 1810 I was glad by beating a 1940!
Round 3: At this time I had 1.5 points out of 2! However, I was going to play one of the best players in the section yet!
Bruh... In that game I got fried, but then in the end I got under time pressure(the usual story!!) and ended up missing some mating ideas! Well I mean there is a lesson...: You need at least three pieces in an attack for it to be good! For example, here at the end I had a rook, queen, and knight !

Round 4: After that draw, I was fairly happy to escape, but also mad for missing mating ideas in the end!
This game was a classic on statics vs dynamics...
Here White had central space, and development while Black had an extra pawn!
Round 5! At this point the tournament was coming to an end and I was tied in first place with 3 other people! So I had to win this game!(I played the opening extremely horrible!)
In that game I sacked the rooooooook for activity!
Round 6: Alright! I am one of the lowest seeded and I am competing for first place! In this round I was playing as 4/5 points and going to play another 4/5! Let's see what happens!?
Yay! I did it I won the game! And....
I got first! My rating became 1936 and I hope to keep it!
Bonus!
Here are a few puzzles made by myself!
White to move and checkmate! BTW: Black pawns are going down!
This one is an easy one too...
Anyways, if you made it this far through my blog I thank you for reading this post and I will post another one soon!
Thanks, runinja
Edit: I took off some information
