To give advice or not

I could see that my opponent was going to fall into a trap and make a blunder and they did.  If I was sitting across from them, I would have asked did they really want to move there.  If we were on free chess I would have offered for them to take back the move.  Can you take back moves here, and would you offer advice during a game?  In this case I didn't and my opponent soon resigned.
