The Diplomatic Dispute of the Medieval War
NOTE: This is about the Medieval War. I have not used anyone's user except for one. This blog is not meant to make anyone feel bad, this is just for content. If I make you feel bad, just let me know. If you don't know what the Medieval War is, then just ask me and I can give you a brief description via private message. Enjoy!
The Medieval War is an event by Club Wars, which clubs duke it out in an all-out warfare, either ending in sweet, sweet victory, or ending in a super bitter loss of their territory. Along with it, clubs can forge together to make an alliance to get rid of their enemy who is mighty and strong. When making these alliances, of course there are "political" disputes about forming alliances in this major event. Obviously, there are big ones, like one alliance arguing with the other. And the small ones, about claiming territories. Let's get started on the bigger stories... by the way, thanks @Nightly-Knight for inviting me to do this!
First things first, it was Sunday evening, when I got a message from the organizer, @Nightly-Knight (or NK for short) talking about an "interesting situation" about one of the territories. The conversation went like this:
NK: "A very interesting thing happened... So R2GM had a match with B3 (VCC) from A2. But then you guys lost A2 and the match went NULL [I can't explain what NULL means]...but now, R2GM won that match and you guys have VCC back. This is an interesting situation. What's your opinion?... Oh wait, the royal Kings also have a battle with B3 that is null and they won it already."
ryanchen100: "So B3 is the Royal Kings [a club]?"
NK: "Yes, I think so. And then R2GM's win against Vote Chess Clan will be a Null 4 pointer...and now there's another Null match with R2GM vs. VCC. I'll be updating that tomorrow."
ryanchen100: "Oh well. Fair is fair. I might add this to my blog…"
And here it is in my blog! After reading this conversation, I don't actually think that VCC had A2 before unless someone can remind me but for now, I should shift this another way. There were a lot of null matches between R2GM and VCC and I think R2GM has won all of them.
In the Medieval War, there are two "main" sides. The United Front (who chooses to side with The Chess Mafia), or The Bruh Alliance (who chooses to side with R2GM). These two sides have been fighting for territories and clubs to join their sides. At this point, the United Front has more territories, with 22 (I think) while the Bruh Alliance has 19 (I think). But don't underestimate the Bruh Alliance yet. R2GM has some very strong daily players and is a club that is strong in daily matches. So if you were to go against R2GM, it might be a hard time trying to win... . Of course, The Chess Mafia has gone to only vote chess (I think) in the Medieval War. I suppose they have decided to go all vote chess because they were busy I guess.
Another problem occurring is not agreeing to the parameters of a battle between two clubs. At some cases, some admins are making challenges without their opponent agreeing to the conditions of the battle. I won't mention the admins involved because of privacy reasons but one admin of a club just sends challenges to a club without your opponent agreeing. For example, let's say one admin challenges another club and automatically sends the challenge/seek. The challenge wasn't what the opponent wants and that would make the battle unfair because one of the admins didn't agree on the parameters. It's been a problem and there should be something to solve this.
Alliances are something most clubs want to join but there have been problems about people joining alliances. In order to join an alliance, you cannot join an alliance if you are battling a club in the alliance you want to join. For example, there is an alliance, The Champions. Team 1 wants to join it but Team 2 is in it but they are battling them therefore Team 1 isn't allowed to join The Champions. Of course, this is a problem. There have been a few swaps and applications getting denied from joining an alliance. The latest swap was by the club Always At the First Place (AATFP). AATFP was in the "Killer Kings" alliance, led by the club More Than Conquerors. They recently switched fronts from the "Killer Kings" alliance to the United Front, along with The Chess Mafia, We Are Back and more.
Just in from the MW forum, the club Global Chess Community is now considering leaving the United Front. My first reaction was "What?!" But after those second thoughts, I thought that this would happen sooner or later. There is no significant data that'll determine the probability of GCC leaving this Mafia-led alliance. If I were to take a guess, I would say 30-40%. NK said almost 50%. Well, we'll see about this one in the coming weeks. I wonder what led to this decision, or is it just something to fool everyone...
Finally, just to put this for fun content, as a seventh grader in Canada, I've recently watched some history videos (wow, boring, right?) about the American Civil War. You know how the North was against the South? No? Oh well. Well, there was their powerful neighbour, the British. They stayed neutral and you know? My teacher told me that it's never good to stay neutral in a battle. There is one club in the Medieval War that is acting somewhat like them. Super Chess Masters has not yet picked a side to choose. A few questions to jot down. Will Super Chess Masters pick a side? Will they be attacked from both fronts? Possibly conquer the entire map? For now, holding onto a strong territory claim, they seem to be quiet but deadly. For now though, thanks for reading and have a good one.
