There is a new chess variety called "Chess ultimate!" There are more pieces with funkier abilities. You can set up your own board. Also, you can buy pieces with points; your maximum points are 100. There are 22 characters. You first get five characters. Pawn(3), bishop(8), knight(5), rook(13), and queen(17). You can unlock more keys by winning games. Also, this is a ckeck-mate game, not a king-capture-varient. Since the pieces are placed, there is more strategy. I will demonstrate some strategies also. There are also castling . You can obtain battle passes and a ranked status, where people can ban pieces.
There are 22 standard characters. Let's see them one by one.
first, the ceckers peice(1, 1keys). It takes 1 point. I don't really need to tell you how to move it right?
Then the giant sludge(1, 1 keys). It also takes one point. Its size is 2x2, and it moves like a plus.
The turtle(3, 1keys) moves like a plus one square.
copycat(3, 1keys). There are two of them, and they mirror the moves. They also get eliminated together.
mage(8,1keys), You can't actually move the mage, but you can change position with one of your other pieces. Even the king!
gesture(10,2keys) is a fake king; your opponent can't tell what your king is!
sludge(12, 2keys) can't capture, but it leaves trails that, if they get captured, the capturing piece gets eliminated too, so it is a good defender in your arsenal.
A sniper(13, 2keys) can shoot from a large distance. But it can't actually move forward. It moves diagonally by one square. Its shooting range is infinite.
buserker(15, 2keys) can move in 1 1-square range. And the range gets farther by capturing a piece. So it can literally checkmate the king with it in the center.
goest(15, 2keys) can move 1 square in a cross. But it is invisible, it reapears when it captures a peace.
Penguin (15, 2keys) can move like a king. If it gets near another peace, it freezes the peace.
parasite(15, 2keys) Can move like a king. When it captures a piece, it takes control of it.
devil(15, 3keys) can spawn minions. Then it rests for one turn; it can't actually move.
bomb(18, 3keys) explodes when it captures, or is captured. It eliminates all the pieces in one range. It can move in any direction in 2 squares.
Prince (18, 2keys) can double-move if it doesn't capture. It moves like a king
Ninja (30, 3keys) can move in 3 squares in any direction. It can also jump over other pieces.
Finally, the angel(40, 3keys) gives any of your peaces one more life. This can lead to weird checkmates.
