Yesterday ended in one of those first-impulse, no-idea-what-caused-it decisions, and it turned out really cool.
I called my friend Danny, who seemed bored out of his mind, and invited him over for the night (making sure he remembered to pack hookah tobacco and coals =P ); he brought with him a chess set, the likes of which I had never seen before, and held up a Knight...
For those of you who have seen the film Searching for Bobby Fischer, this was the exact same kind of Knight.
It took about a dozen moves to adapt to the circular board -- using circles and spiraling lines, instead of squares -- but once we did, it was quite the experience. I recommend the set (which the box called "Noble Celts") to anyone in need of a "new" perspective on chess. You can check it out in my photo album, "Kicking It Old School".
Play well, all!
