Cats and Chess?

Ya, you know the feline (feeling). You're playing chess with your friend or sibling, and you're pretty sure you got the game wrapped up. But just a few moves away from checkmate, your cat saunters into the room. After a few investigative sniffs, they decide the board looks like a pleasant place to sit. And as you and your opponent shout in disbelief and amusement, your cat plants there little bottom squarely in the middle of the game, knocking over most of the pieces, and looking at you as if to say, "My seat in more important than your menial board game. deal with it", you can't help but think, cats and chess, don't mix. I on the other hand, believe no such thing. Cats have been scientifically proven to lower stress and anxiety, as well as improve focus, and confidence. All of things are helpful when engaging in activities such as chess, which require keen eyes, concentration, and focus. And as my cat sleeps in her chair bedside's me, I can't help but believe this is true. Of course, this probably isn't always true. If you're a dog person, all the principles above apply to you to, just for dogs, instead of cats. Perhaps one day, I'll make a chess set composed entirely of cats for pieces. Comment if you think I should do it. But why are our Feline friends knocking over pieces and disrupting our games in the first place? Well, cats are very smart animals, and often require constant stimulation and entertainment. You, as their owner, are often who they turn to when they desire these things. But sometimes you're occupied by those little black and white men dancing around on the checkered platform. So, they proceed to interrupt and end the game, and knock the little men over, therefore ending your current stimulation, and putting the spotlight back on them. While this may seem calculated and malicious, they sure do look ridiculously adorable doing it. As always, keep playing chess, and have fun! And comment more blog ideas for me to write!
