Shaun V World: Sorry Botvinnik! I Didn't Mean it!!!
Rounds 4 and 5 of the World Open happened yesterday. Like all young strapping U1600 players, my head was filled with hopes of glory and prize money--but dreams are for the weak!
After bombing a game where I was up a pawn, I came back into round 5 hoping to redeem myself. Instead, I commited a travesty against the game of kings. I'd like to personally extend my apologies for those fine human beings who invented the game, FIDE, chess.com, and all the others who have suffered because in some way, this effort has diminished our entire enterprise :D
I took a half point bye for round six, but I'll be back for round seven. Look out for the blog tomorrow and check out the excitement you missed in
Day1: Inconceivable
