Tie Down Your Chickens!!! Chess.com’s Support Team Invades the World Open

With my skills sharpened in the vicious chatrooms of the Melik and Me Show and my head brimming with new knowledge from the Official Tutor of Chess.com himself, GM Melikset Khachiyan, I'm ready to take on the world (open)—and I'm not alone.

With Support Team employees, the Malicious Matts, Patzer24 and Kirkwood, as well as a friendly National Master Sam Copeland, we were ready to lay waste to the World Open in much the same way Furiosa Imperator might lay waste to a used Yugo parking lot.

The first of the Malicious Mats, Patzer 24 has already won second place in the annual World Open warm up tournament.  They and Sam will start their first round today . . . but yesterday, I walked into my round 1 to see what kind of wood chucking post apocalyptic fun I could find in the under 1600 section.

My first opponent was Adam Eubanks.  Coming in at 1529 and ½ ELO points, I figured he was in trouble.  With only a 100 point advantage, how could he hope to win?

He got greedy, so I got lucky!  1 down, and 8 to go.  We'll have a game from one of the Malicious Matt's or Sam in the next instalment of Chess.com Support Vs. the WORLD OPEN!
