Legendary game of 20th century

All of us at sometimes want to win the game of chess in fashionable manner by sacking your pieces. Same went into the mind of our protagonist who decided to give a world a lesson on how to sack pieces and create a devastating attack.

Our main protagonist is Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and antagonist in sense of his opponent was Anish Giri .This was a rapid match for Aimchess Meltwater Champions  held in year 2022 on date between October 14-21.

So Mamedyarov started the game with jobava london system with move  1.d4-Nf6 2.Nc3 . Now maybe as i mentioned in first blog in london system c5 break is critical to look for so he didnt wanted to play bf4 on second move so he played knight first and then played bf4. Below is the position we can see.

so anish decided to play slowly thinking opponent would overextend himself and he will some what take advantage then and he played e6. Shak went Nb5 attacking the c7 giri devlopes Na6. next few moves where developing moves like 5.e3-Be7 

In this position shak had option to develope the pieces and castle and then play for h and g push but as we know shak had different ideas in his mind he first played h4 insted of developing. Anish castles and shak developes knight. Anish question knight on b5 by pushing c6 knight is retreted back to c3. Anish developes queen to b6 attacking b2 weakness and shaq plays a trap line h3.

QUEEN TRAP LINE- 

If at this instance anish would have taken Qb2 Shak would have played Na4 this is well knowned trap and definetly anish knows it well for fun try saving your queen if you can here.

since Anish is GM he very well knows it so he plays c5 critical break shak has to response and so here the first trade happens shak takes knight on a6 with bishop(NOTE- Structure is dark square structure and you should save light square bishop to cover light square weakness) then anish plays Qb6 shak pushesh the h5 anish block further mobility by h6 shaq just dosent care and start what we call the journey of sacrifices. The relm of sacrifices -

Well shak decided to start slowly and first sack the pawn on g4 which Anish takes since why would you not then shak plays Rg1 attacking the knight on b5 anish saves it with f5. Mamedyarov then settle his outpost by playing Ne5. Just keep notice how shak makes this outpost work till end of game that knight will not move this enitre game and that will be the most problamatic piece for anish.

so anish decides to first trade the centre pawn and then attack the knight so he plays cxd4 15.exd4 shak takes with e pawn and then bishop f6 attacking the knight. 

now here the sakh decided to show anish that he was creating the game of century by taking Rxg4 sacking the rook. Anish takes fxg

then Qxg4. Anish is kindof blocked on king side so he attacks with b5. 

Here  Shak sacrifces bishop by playing Bxf6 queen comes back to b7 to avoid any complication and shak does the long castle showing that his second rook is joining the attack now . Anish tries a5 but shak again brilliantly sacrifices the knight by Nxb5.Qxb5 is played .
