A gem from Shirov

Continuing on my way through Neil McDonald's Chess: the art of logical thinking. Tonight I played through this game where Shirov smashes Bareev's French Defence. Shirov's games are always entertaining to play through and sometime soon I plan to work through his Fire on Board annotated collections.

Shirov along with Ivanchuk are 2 of my favorite players. They both play exciting, dynamic chess and you never know what genius they are going to come up with. It is a shame that Shirov never got his shot against Kasparov.
