Training Update
Still doing my daily routine of tactics problems on the trainer. I spent some time this past week looking at building a repertoire, and spent some time on a couple of lines in the French and the Caro-Kann since I play 1.e4 . Looking at the Caro-Kann lines I stumbled across a John Nunn game where he does a King march similar to Nigel Short's King march against Timman.
I have been spending a fair amount of time continuing to work my way through Silman's The Amateur's Mind. I completed the sections on space, pawn structure, material, development & initiative, many imbalances - one board, and how to play the opening.
I only worked through one of the Tarrasch games in Masters of the Chess Board.
I spent a little time yesterday looking at part of Soltis' Pawn Structure Chess, but I am holding off diving into it right now as I would like to finish Silman's book first before starting in on something else. I try to have one strategy/instruction type book going at a time, and 1 game collection.
I need to work on getting a more structured schedule going again and make sure I spend some time working through Silman's Endgame Course. I am in the middle of the class C section, but I will probably start from scratch again. It shouldn't take long to get back to where I was as it has been pretty elementary so far.
