A thought about ratings
It occurred to me that one's rating is not necessarily a good measure of playing skill. How we fare in chess.com turn-based games depends on factors such as how much time we devote to analysis on each move, how seriously we take the game, and how many games we are playing at the same time. Not to mention losing on time by accident.
One of the drawbacks of turn-based chess is that one loses the sense of flow of the game. It's hard to remember plans and intentions when switching between five or more games.
