Hello everyone. In this blog, i will give you tips to improve yourself in chess and most of them are not hard at all! In this blog you will learn how to:

1. Find the best moves

In order to find best moves, you have to analyse your current situation and find which move gives you the best advantage and will suit your gameplay better.

Example:

If you like to play defensive you might play a move that defends a isolated pawn,

If you like to play aggressive you might play a move that attacks opponents side.

But its important to balance both. If you have a exposed king no matter how long u attack a piece ur king is likely to get checkmated. And if you defense so much and never attack you can't ever win the game. Attack might be best defense in some situations too!

But not always...

2. Control your time

Don't overthink basic moves, only overthink a risky move like a queen exchange in a risky square. Overthinking might make thinks worse. If you are already low on time, play safe moves and don't try to think a lot. Play defensive and look for any opponent mistake. Focus on only chess while playing chess.

3. Gain ELO a lot quicker and easier

You can make a schedule to play. Be active in chess.com and play games often. But to get higher ELOs you might improve yourself. Focus on playing chess and not to fun. Don't play bad openings or blunders to just have fun. You still can do this when ur playing a unrated game!

4. Stop playing blunders often

Analyse the situation. Look at every square on the board before playing a move.

You need to think before making a risky move like moving queen in opening, making a trade, moving a defender etc. You can hang a piece or let opponent checkmate you anytime!

If you feel not ok with a move, don't play it. Don't do trades often. If u see your opponent hanging a piece so comfortable, analyse before capturing it. It might be a part of a bigger plan!
