Round 1 of 7 U2000 from May 2011

I am not playing much otb tournament chess this summer, but am analyzing some old games. Last May I played a seven round tournament after over a half of year of inactivity. As the first games show, I was considerably out of form at the beginning, but would later regain my stride to finish at 50%.

In round one I played the opening well, but lost my way in the middle game. The endgame was rather complicated and gave me some chances to gain a perpetual or a cheepo checkmate. Unfortunately, my opponent was able to work his way through the complications, and I missed my one opportunity to recover something close to equality.
