2021 World Chess Championship Begins With Game 1 Draw
The 2021 World Chess Championship began on November 26 with a draw between reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen and his challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi. Nepomniachtchi got the White pieces in his first ever World Chess Championship game as fans speculated what move he would open the match with.
