John Purdy Memorial - Round 6

This blog follows my quest for an official FIDE rating.

After two successive losses at the John Purdy Memorial I manage to break the drought in round 6 with a satisfying win over my 1563 rated opponent. I say satisfying because the engine I use in my post-game analysis (Toga II) didn't seem to find too much wrong with my play. Although the final position was technically winning for me, my opponent definitely resigned too early. If he'd found Rc2 I would still have had to cope with his annoying passed pawn.
