When to draw.
You may have seen that a lot of players draw in some games. Draws are a way to shorten a game if you have the same pieces on the board. Many GM offer draws because they are so good that they can't blunder and they don't want to play for nothing. Now, what about you? Should you draw? The answer is yes, of course you can offer draws but not always. When you offer a draw you have to have the same material with your opponent, otherwise you may just give more confidence to your opponent. Now, you can offer a draw when your opponent is winning by a knight but again do NOT be waiting for your opponent to agree with you.
Kasparov did a lot of draws, if you look at his games, half of them are game drawn by agreement. But he did this because he knew he could not win. That is what the draws are for. The most common (and the best time to offer a draw,) is at the middle or end game. That is when your opponent will agree to the draw.
