Round 7: Ding Liren Escapes a Lost Position to Secure a Draw
In the halfway point of the FIDE World Chess Championship between Challenger Gukesh Dommaraju from India and defending champion Ding Liren from China, we saw sparks fly as Ding performed a Houdini-like escape from a dead lost position. With him securing a draw after 72 moves. This game really felt like a turning point in the match were it wasn't Ding on the upper hand in many of the games. For the past two games Ding had lost his advantage while on the upper hand.
