I played GOTHAM CHESS in Titled Tuesday ..AND...
This was the highlight of my Titled Tuesday !
Playing Levy Rozman aka GothamChess while he was streaming the event was fun.
...AND...
The game ended in a draw !
1/2 - 1/2 Against Levy @Gothamchess, I'll take it.
Indeed this was the CM vs the IM, the 2450 rating on chess.com versus 2701 rated player.
as you can see Levy quit the tournament after our game which was Round 8. We both had 3/7 after 7 rounds far away from the top players like @Hikaru and @exoticprincess

I had the Black pieces and right away Levy used a line I am not too familiar with
2.a3!? agains the sicilian. Clearly Levy wants to play b2-b4
I am not in the mood of accepting the pawn and White's gambit with 3..cxb4
I just played 3..b6, which is not the best move but avoiding opening traps as Levy has prepared this sideline against the Sicilian.
Levy with White exchanged pieces and is of the opinion the knight is superior to the bishop.
This reminds me a bit of a french defense advanced variation
Except my "bad" bishop can go to a4 (eventually)

The next position is critical
Black to move
GothamChess with White has a very simple plan with g2-g4 and h2-h4 played.
He simply wants to checkmate me.
His idea is that I don't have a lot of pieces to defend the kingside.
...
What should Black do here ? The answer is counter-attack from the queenside and getting to White's king using the Queen and Rook.
I didn't play the most accurate move Ra2! but still with Ra1+ I am trying to get my attack going. It's a little bit like a race, will White crash through first or is Black in time to find deadly threats ?
It was hard to evaluate and I was a bit behind on the clock.
In the next position, The game review gives me a !!, brilliant move. Well, this didn't win the game but still let me ask you if you can find it with the following quiz

To be clear I wasn't listening at all to Gothamchess stream but if any of these readers do follow him, wondering if he was upset with the game and did he rage quit ? that would be funny.
I could sense he was trying to win with g4 and h4 (against a patzer like me) , and after my sac, he was still trying to win.
