A Big Mistake That Chess Players Make

Hi everyone... It's been a while since I made a blog. It's because I'm busy. I'll try to post blogs at my level best!

So in this blog, I'm going to tell you a mistake that chess players are making which is,  just simply trading Bishops and Knights.

Chapter 1: The Difference of Bishop and Knight
People say that Bishop and Knight are worth 3 points. It's true, but a Bishop is actually better in most cases of the game. You can take it like a Bishop is 3.5 points. This is because of the Bishop's long reach unlike the Knight.

Which is why, we play h3 in the London System. Black tries to exchange a Bishop for a Knight which is a advantage for Black.

Chapter 2: It's Not Always The Same!
Just because Bishop's are considered 3.5 points, doesn't mean it's better in all cases! Remember, Bishops are worth only 3 points but considered 3.5 points because it's usually better than the Knight.

Chapter 3: When The Bishop Is Better
The Bishop is better in open positions. This is because it can control one whole diagonal if the position is open. It's not useful for the Knight. This makes the Bishop powerful and help in winning games.

Chapter 4: When The Knight Is Better
The Knight is better in closed positions. This is because it's the only piece that can jump around the board, unlike the Bishop. This makes the Knight powerful and be the happiest piece during closed positions.

So that's all from me in this blog. Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you benefit from it. I hope you enjoyed this blog. Stay tuned for more blogs from me!
