Skibidi Toilet & Chess|Similarities
🌨️🌨️🌨️
Skibidi Toilet is an international phenomenon known by social media users all across the globe. Made about a year ago by user DaFuq!?Boom, this famous animation has gone on to the trending For You Page, to inspire content creators and to entertain millions of people.
Now, in this blog, we are going to talk about the SIMILARITIES of this G-Mod animation and chess, a very well-known sport.
1. People from all walks of life enjoy it
Everyone- no, a lot of people from every corner of the globe, from every stage of the human life and from different backgrounds enjoy it. Evidence? Here it is:
If you look at the Youtube channel, its views are all over a million! And you can even ignore the circled views(which are its recent's highest), the amount of people watching is HUGE. (damn so many fans-)
The same can be said for chess. According to the House of Staunton, approximately 605 million adults worldwide play chess regularly. Children are not even included! (Who else is scared of 9-year-olds in chess? *gulp*)
Another evidence is that people make lots of content about it. Here are some videos made about Skibidi Toilet:

2. Both depict a war
In the Skibidi Toilet series, a war rages as both parties fight for victory. The toilets(with human heads in them) constantly attack humanoid figures called cameramen whose allies are speakermen and tvmen. They develop revolutionary technology, with the intention of ending the war once and for all, but only one will win: themselves.
As the viewers watch, they are hooked; Who will prevail? When will the battle finally end? What caused it to happen? Do YOU want to know? Watch to find out.
In chess, two players compete in a psychological battle, strategising, deceiving and fighting for the #1 spot. Checkmate! A player loses, his king helpless and his kingdom hopeless. The bishops, knights, rooks, pawns and queen yield to the opposing player, knowing full well that they have been defeated.
People watch chess matches, eager to know who wins; White or Black? Hikaru or Magnus? Ding or Gukesh? Well, they will only know once it happens...
3. The Importance of Strategy
After watching the animation, I've learnt that strategy is a key component in both Skibidi Toilet and chess.
The characters in Skibidi Toilet strategise in order to win or take advantage of the opposing party. In certain episodes, you can see the toilets 'corrupting' the cameramen, speakermen and tvmen, gaining control over their minds and using the corrupted against their own. (A smart strategy, might I add...)
The same can be seen in chess. Less than 2000 people have achieved the title: Grandmaster. To achieve this title is such a grand feat. How do you think they managed it? Strategy, strategy, strategy. Without strategy, opponents will not be defeated. Without strategy, winning is null. Without strategy, well, I think you're figured it out by now...
4. Encourages creativity
Many content creators have been able to make both long-form and short-form content regarding/relating to Skibidi Toilet and chess.
Here are some channels as an example:
Skibidi Toilet
Chess
5. Big following on social media platforms
The creator of Skibidi Toilet, user DaFuq!?Boom on Youtube, has around 42.7 M subscribers. That is a LOT of people.
There's no telling which is the main or primary social media platform for chess is but you can see famous streamers like GmHikaru maintain big numbers on Youtube and Twitch. Chesscom itself has around 1.9 M subscribers, which is also a LOT of people. (not as much as Skibidi Toilet Lovers though...)
6. Different pieces/types
Skibidi Toilet has LOTS of characters. There are so many variations of toilets, cameramen, speakermen and tvmen. Here is a peek of the toilet characters:

...and this is only a peek. I didn't even show the rest: the cameramen, the speakermen and the tvmen. If you'd like to see the rest, I recommend you watch the show or visit this website: https://skibidi-toilet.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Characters.
The list is huge in contrast to the pieces(aka characters) of chess, which only has 6: the pawn, the bishop, the knight, the rook, the queen and the king.
Here's a guide to chess pieces by user @FredMalm on Reddit:

What a difference!
Conclusion
Skibidi Toilet and chess has many similarities(and differences). No matter what, creativity should be encouraged. Will Skibidi Toilet ever end? I'm not sure. What about chess? I don't know. But what we do know is that everything has a positive and a negative side.
Hope you learnt something! By the way, anyone excited for 20th July? It's International Chess Day! Take your calendars and mark it! Let's celebrate chess together!
