how i manage my clubs
Hope these will benefit you.
- Make your club interesting and fun. Unique club= More members.
- Try to have at least one note on the club every now and then. This ensures that members don't think your club has gone inactive.
- No advertising anywhere. This may get you more members, but its highly likely that most will stay inactive. Whats worse, such clubs can be disabled by staff.
- Try your best to be active on vote chess and matches. Try to take on clubs which have a high number of members so that the match is not one-sided. Never do that as it puts a bad impression on both clubs.
- Try to have each admin take up a "role" They can be as simple as moderating the club to making forums. Ideas for member roles- Club moderator (Coordinator(Unnecessary in most cases)), Vote chess/match manager (Admin/SA), Fun manager (riddles, jokes, etc.(Coordinator/admin)), Puzzle maker (Coordinator/Admin), Invite Admin, Blogger(Admin/Coordinator(Exceptional cases SA)), Youtube channel manager(Channel representing your club. Its really hard to get someone to do that.(Admin)).If you don't get members, you can try these yourself
- Have an attractive description. (Public and Private) This ensures that members join and that your invites don't go to waste.
- Reward Positive work. If a member does something positive, do not hesitate to reward them. This sets an example for other club members to do something too!
- Never allow spamming/blackmail. I keep noticing that new clubs fail to moderate this. Blackmail (eg. make me an SA or I leave ones.) and spam (Club advertising) should never be allowed.
- Have a set of rules and STICK TO THEM. Not having a set of rules leaves the impression that your club is disorganized. Not sticking to them means that your club is REALLY disorganized.(NO EXCEPTIONS unless you are sure it was unintentional.)
- Do not have inactive/untrustworthy admins and never promote anyone directly. This often gets ignored by clubs. If someone wants to help manage the club, start off by giving them a coordinator post before promoting them to an admin unless you are sure that they will help. If you promote members directly, there is a good chance that your club will be wiped out of members.
