A NEW VARIATION FOUND IN ALIEN GAMBIT BY AARAV DHAR a.k.a "thoragnarook" on CHESScom
Hello Chess enthusiasts! I am Aarav Dhar, a chess player from India I also go by "thoragnarook" on CHESScom. Today, I am going to tell you all about a new variation that I found in Alien Gambit. This variation is based on the following moves-
1-e4, c6
2-d4, d5
3-Nc3/Nd2, dxe4
4-Nxe4, Nf6
5-Ng5
This is known as "Alien Gambit" invented by Volen Dyulgerov a.k.a Witty_Alien on CHESScom and Twitch.
After Ng5 then,
5-h6 (by black) a continuation to the gambit
6-Nxf7, Kxf7
7-Nf3, c5
c5 is the best move according to the engine
8-Bd3,
Now, black is in an advantage of a knight (+3) so exchanging can be very tempting.
In continuation-
8-cxd4 (by black)
Now the variation starts here by playing the move-
9-Nxd4!
Not the best move according to the engine but a very positional one.
Alien Gambit is a gambit which works best in shorter time controls, like 1 minute or 10+1 seconds or even blitz like 3 minutes. But the new variation that is founded, works best when played in shorter time controls like 10+1 seconds or 30 seconds and even blitz.
Now, in continuation-
i) 9-Qxd4??(by black)
Now, this is a blunder because, after the move-
10-Bg6+ and then if
10-Kxg6
11-Qxd4 and you pick up the queen
and now you are completely winning even though black has minor pieces to make up for the queen, but the queen for white is more flexible in the position. The following blunder has been played 2-3 times.

Now the second way of the variation-
ii) 9-Nc6??(by black)
This is also a blunder, black is thinking of exchanging as, black has an advantage of a knight but once again you're completely winning after the move-
11-Nxc6! (by white)
Also, the best move according to the engine, because after the move-
11)-bxc6 (by black)
You are winning once again because of the move-
12)-Bg6+
again, opening up the d file and picking up the queen after the move
12)-Kxg6
13)-Qxd8
You are winning again, as I explained the queen is flexible in the position.

And I would like to name this variation-"THE DHAR VARIATION" after my name, Aarav Dhar.
