Disaster for me in my first game of the season playing on board one for Northampton Chessmates B in the Silver King League against our "A" team.
James Jackson is a very talented player and although I managed the opening fairly well, my usual failing to transfer this form into the middle game proved my undoing. I spent an inordinate amount of time on my 12th move and this proved my undoing. My instinct was to play probably the correct move - h5 but I was trying to slow things down and have a good think in the position which is not always advisable!
Still, kick off the shoes, sit back and enjoy a fine game where black (me) gets systematically crushed after move 12. If you put the kettle on first, you should be into the kitchen in time to make the tea before you finish playing through this game!
Annotation is fairly scant on this and it has not been shoved through the computer (I am trying to avoid using computer analysis until AFTER I have looked through the game myself - clearly this isn't helping to improve my chess either!).
I do promise to publish a win for me at some point (assuming this season turns out better than the second half of last term!).
