Castling Rules

Hola! How is everyone today? I'm here to chit-chat with you about castling. There's rules.

Maybe you knew that castling has 5 tournament rules that cannot be broken in chess:

  1. If a king has moved, it cannot castle.
  2. If a rook has moved, it cannot castle.
  3. A king cannot castle into check.
  4. A king cannot castle through check.
  5. The king has to be moved first, and then the rook can move.

These rules are very important when playing chess. If you like to practice what I preach (lol) you can play a "whoever castles first wins" game. (Root, William, 2015)

The object of this exercise is to practice the castling moves with new players and get speed in your chess moves. However, please note that if black castles on the same move as white, the exercise is a draw.

Thank you and adios!

P.S: Did you know that the word 'quesadilla' means 'little cheesy thing' in Spanish? tongue
