Why is the Queen always the FOCUS!

As I have been playing chess lately, I have been noticing something interesting. I have been seeing that so many people often are putting more effort into taking the queen then they are to putting the King in checkmate. The whole point of a chess game is to take prevent the King from moving and I feel like we put to much passion into the queen.

For all the time and effort we end up spending trying to keep our Queen alive for one more move, we are wasting time on the ultimate goal...finishing off the King. This is a skill most chess players can work on. If you don't want you Queen to have to run from the enemy for like who knows how long, just don't move her into a bad position in the first place.
