1.Chess Pieces

What you must always remember is that every chess piece is worth and a part of our 16-soldier army.  Let’s look the points of pieces.

Chess pieces

Though the pawn has only 1 point it is the vital part of a good opening, because it is very important in Chess. It is the stage where you should bring your pieces and set them in attacking positions. So the continuation of the middle game and endgame depends on it.

In order to start a good opening, you should start with a pawn and gradually open up your game by moving the pieces in the center where they will have complete control of maximum number squares.

2. Occupy the center

While developing your pieces your number one duty is to occupy center before letting your opponent do so. Let’s take the example of Kasparov and Short.

occupy the center

Here you can see that White pieces have an advantage due to the pawns in the central squares(c4-d5-e4-f3). If you control center, your chances are big for a better game because here you have more control of the board than your opponent. For example, if we take a knight.

A knight in the center controls eight squares so 8 possible moves.

In the opposite way, this knight in the corner controls 2 squares having the opportunity of 2 moves. So the same works with other pieces and for that it is a vital part of the chess to fight for the center.

And if you have taken the center your next step should be using pressure (remember your opponent is trying to take the control) on the center. So you must force your opponent move away from the center.

3. Attack in the middle game

When you have already developed your pieces and have complete control over the central part of the board, it’s definitely time to attack. You must have plans about how to capture opponents pawns and any piece that he is not protecting. But again here you should remember the important thing is to think what will happen if you take his piece because there is always a fear of not being captured yourself. Gradually achieving into a position where you can attack the opponent’s king.

4. Expect your opponent’s moves

While playing chess it is important for every chess player to watch the moves of the opponents and start asking a question to yourself and think. “What plan does my opponent have in mind” or “Why did he choose that move” and etc. For having that kind of ability, you should always practice on yourself by playing against you which will give you the opportunity to feel the whole board. And of course, it will give you the experience of thinking for the 2 players at the same time.

So what you need is Learn, Practice and Win

5. Win the endgame

The endgame is the final stage of the chess and for having a victory over the opponent's what you should do is the practicing on your endgame strategy. Because your final goal is the keep your King and checkmate the opponent king.

"The king, which during the opening and middlegame stage is often a burden because it has to be defended, becomes in the endgame a very important and aggressive piece, and the beginner should realize this, and utilize his king as much as possible.” Jose Capablanca

In the endgame, you should be patient and analyze your moves for not appearing well-thought trap.

"Patience is the most valuable trait of the endgame player" Pal Benko.
