Chess is a game of strategy. You focus on outmaneuvering and outplaying your opponent until you play the final move for checkmate. In chess, you must think of moves, plan your attack, and find combinations to get the advantage. To achieve this, I feel like you need a sufficient amount of time to plan and calculate. During blitz games, I feel you don’t have enough time to play at your full potential and even less in bullet games. During rapid games, you have at least ten minutes and say you played a 40-move game. Then you would have 15 seconds per move. This would be a much more sufficient time than 7.5 seconds in a 5-minute blitz game, or under 2 seconds a move in a 1-minute bullet. In fact, in most chess tournament games the time each player has to make their moves is 30-plus minutes. Also in rapid, you have more time to focus on your opponent's moves so you can learn patterns and get better at chess. All of these reasons are why I believe rapid is the best time amount for a chess game. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
