AN UNBEATEN RUN! (PART 2)
Hello, Hola and Namaste to all!
Welcome to PART 2 of the An unbeaten run blog. If you have missed the previous blog here's the link for the same, PART 1 ![]()
In PART 1 of the blog, I covered my ROUND 1-2-3 games from the SILVER LAKE OPEN TOURNAMENT. At the end of Round 3, I had secured 2.5 points, which I felt was a decent score. The best part about the tournament was that it had a single round daily, so it gave me ample time to rest, prepare, and to explore the town as well.
ROUND 4
In the fourth round, I faced a Grandmaster from Serbia, Lajthajm Borko. He was rated 2433. In general, it's a task to play against any Grandmaster but to play with the black side is always more difficult. They hardly give you any chances to neutralize.
A draw with black against a GM is not a bad result I felt, and with the draw, my points tally got to 3/4.
ROUND 5
In the 5th round, I faced another Grandmaster from Serbia, Stojanovic Mihaljo. He was rated 2503. It's great to face GM'S in consecutive rounds. But the only difference here is, I was white in this game. Its always difficult to predict their opening choice, as they have vast experience in almost every line and a vast opening repertoire.
With 2 consecutive draws in round 4 and 5, I took my points tally to 3.5/5. The first half of the tournament was pretty satisfactory with 2 wins and 3 draws.
ROUND 6
In the 6th round, I was up against yet another Grandmaster from the host country, Goran Kosanovic. He was a great player with a huge experience. He was rated 2316. and as I mentioned its always difficult to play with the black.
With a hat-trick of draws against good players, I was pretty pleased with the performance. Nevertheless, it wasn't the end as I had to play 3 more rounds. And it was important to keep the momentum going.
When your tournament is going great you tend to be happy or joyful in general. And that meant I don't have to sacrifice travelling or getting to know the place or the culture in a better way. And with just 1 round daily, it was easy to manage all these things.
Here are a few clicks from my daily travel part.
A BEAUTIFUL CARAVAN WITH A 4 LEGGED ANIMAL!
BOATING AND VOLLEYBALL WERE THE 2 MAIN ATTRACTION!
I hope you enjoyed watching the games and the beauty of the place. This was the PART 2 of the "An unbeaten run". I'll be covering the last few games along with a twist in the final part! Stay tuned.
