One of the best companion devices that goes with an electronic chess board like the Chessnut PRO is a tablet. Although the included Chessnut app is "okay", some people have had problems with it, and it doesn't work for things like tournaments on

My default now is to use Chessconnect, which in my opinion, is a much better solution! Chessconnect can be used on Android, through the Kiwi Browser, which is a Chromium-based browser that can run Chrome extensions.

This video quickly demonstrates downloading the Kiwi Browser from the Google Play Store, installing the Chessconnect extension from the Chrome Web Store, and then playing a game on! The tablet in the video is a slightly older Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ model.

Hi!  I'm vitualis, the chess noob (aka chessnoob64), and I run the "Adventures of a Chess Noob" YouTube channel and blog.  I'm learning and having fun with chess!

I restarted playing chess recently after my interest was rekindled by the release of "The Queen's Gambit" on Netflix.  I mostly play 1 or 2 games a day, and am trying to improve (slowly!).  I document some of my games and learning experiences on my blog and YouTube channel from the perspective of a beginner-intermediate player!
