The Chessnut developers have updated the firmware on my prototype Chessnut EVO board and there are some fantastic bug fixes, but also some new features!
Bugs fixed:
- excessive delay between screen and board moves when playing online
- pawn promotion glitch when playing online
New features:
- intelligent screen rotation so that the screen orientation will match the colour of the piece you control
- this works for both on-device bots (Maia, Stockfish, Lc0) and for online games
- "Chess Vision" using the neural processing unit to "read" chess boards on screen is being expanded to more online chess services, with support for Chessable announced!
