This is a comprehensive look and review of the new Chessnut Pro Electronic Chess set!  It has a beautiful wooden frame and board, with hidden LEDs that are not apparent when unlit.  The board has tournament size squares.  The chessmen are carved wooden pieces from India, and though not a very premium set, are perfectly competent and look very handsome when compared to alternatives.

This is a wonderful device and quite possibly the best in class in terms of playing online on chess.com and Lichess using physical chessmen.  However, there are some practical issues to consider for the potential buyer, as well as both pros and cons to the device.

Hi!  I'm vitualis, the chess noob, and I run the "Adventures of a Chess Noob" YouTube channel and blog.  I'm learning and having fun with chess!

I restarted playing chess recently after my interest was rekindled by the release of "The Queen's Gambit" on Netflix.  I mostly play 1 or 2 games a day, and am trying to improve (slowly!).  I document some of my games and learning experiences on my blog and YouTube channel from the perspective of a beginner-intermediate player!
