Quick Wins #16 | Busch-Gass Gambit: 8 move kill!
#Busch-GassGambit
chess noob Quick Wins! is a new series of short videos, to demonstrate very quick wins! As a beginner, you become aware of the Scholar's Mate and the Fool's Mate, but neither of these show up in real games. However, there are tricky quick checkmates and wins that occur, even at the intermediate level of chess.
This was game by a subscriber (@ignominius99) who played with the black pieces. They took the initiative on move 2 with the rather dubious [+2] but aggressive opening, the Busch-Gass Gambit (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Bc5)!
Although I can't recommend it, my subscriber played a strategy with a forthright directness that one cannot help but to admire, and I think, can catch beginner players off guard. Simply, it is to sacrifice material to rapidly develop, and then launch an immediate and potentially overwhelming attack on the enemy king. And for my subscriber, it worked with a lovely checkmate on move 8! GG!
