Quick Wins #19 | Anti-Dutch Defense! Janzen-Korchnoi Gambit

chess noob Quick Wins! is a series of short videos, to demonstrate very quick wins! As a beginner, you become aware of the Scholar's Mate and the Fool's Mate, but neither of these show up in real games. However, there are tricky quick checkmates and wins that occur, even at the intermediate level of chess.
This was an incredible 7-move checkmate by a subscriber (@Gimli) against the Dutch Defense (1. d4 f5). The Dutch Defense seems to break opening principles by moving the f-pawn immediately, but is actually an entirely solid opening defence. However, my subscriber played an interesting "anti-dutch" line: the Korchnoi Attack, Janzen-Korchnoi Gambit (2. h3 Nf6 3. g4), immediately attacking the f-pawn, and destabilising Black's king-side with a flank-pawn attack.
Black plays inaccurately, chasing material, and this now exposes Black to the potential weakness of the light-square diagonal to their king inherent with the movement of their f-pawn.
White sacrifices their rook in a brilliant move (6. Rxh7), liquidating Black's h-pawn and the last defender of the light squares. Black misses the checkmate risk, captures the rook, and so (7. Qg6#), an extraordinary early checkmate that seemingly comes from nowhere! GG!
