Quick Wins #20 | BRUTAL Queen slays Queen ends game in 6 moves!
#QueensPawnOpening #EnglundGambit
chess noob Quick Wins! is a series of short videos, to demonstrate very quick wins! As a beginner, you become aware of the Scholar's Mate and the Fool's Mate, but neither of these show up in real games. However, there are tricky quick checkmates and wins that occur, even at the intermediate level of chess.
This was an incredible 7-move win by my subscriber (@shlomo55555) using an unusual and unexpected line of one of my favourites, the Englund Gambit!
The game starts with an Englund Gambit Accepted (1. d4 e5 2. dxe5) but my subscriber plays the rather unusual (2... Bc5)! Stockfish hates this [+2.3] but it generally hates the Englund Gambit anyway.
One of the things with the Englund Gambit is that the typical trap line, which normally starts with (2... Nc6) becomes well known by Queen's Pawn Opening players once they reach an intermediate level, and they may learn to refute it. This alternative line may come as quite unexpected.
On Black's next move, they play (3... d6), drawing White's pawn further in. White takes as it looks fine. Black now gambits a full knight (4... Ne7)! So spicy! White takes!
Of course, it's a trap. The d-file is now fully open with the queens looking at each other. The dark square bishop in c5 now sacrifices itself against f2, forcing the king to respond (5... Bxf2+ 6. Kxf2). White's queen, barely awake at the beginning of the game, is now undefended. Black's queen launches herself into battle, flying across the board like a Valkyrie - unstoppable and unimpeded - and impales the white queen into her throne with a lance. Savage. Having inflicted critical emotional damage, White resigns.
