WIN in 8! Nimzowitsch Defense Declined - chess noob Quick Wins! #4
chess noob Quick Wins! is a new series of short videos, to demonstrate very quick wins! As a beginner, you become aware of the Scholar's Mate and the Fool's Mate, but neither of these show up in real games. However, there are tricky quick checkmates and wins that occur, even at the intermediate level of chess.
This brilliant game was shared by one of my subscribers @jschwar2000 and is amazing! There's a very beautiful checkmate in 8, and even a brilliant move!
My subscriber played White, and the opening is a little unusual - a Nimzowitsch Defense declined (1. e4 Nc6 2. Nf3). On move 3, Black makes a mistake by attempting to pin the knight to the queen (3... Bg4) and my subscriber finds the sequence of moves to punish it!
Firstly, the brilliant bishop sacrifice (4. Bxf7+) capturing the pawn on f7! The king must recapture (4... Kxf7), which then allows the ostensibly pinned knight to jump forward (5. Ng5+), also with check and a discovered attack on the bishop!
The king boldly advances forward, pressuring the knight and the queen captures the bishop and defending the knight (5... Kg6 6. Qxg4). Black now plays a very natural looking move (6... Nf6), developing the knight and attacking the White queen. Except, this is a blunder [+M3] as checkmate is now unavoidable! On move 8, we see the stunning checkmate (8. Nf7#) which is also a family fork (king, queen, and rook)!
