Did you know that the queens gambit isn't considered a gambit?

A "gambit" is sacrificing a piece of lower value, like a pawn, for a piece of a higher value, like a night or bishop. However, in the queens gambit accepted, you either capture the pawn, or take control over the center:

Or:

However, there is one variant of Queen's gambit accepted that captures a piece of higher value:

In this position, black insists on protecting the pawn on c4 with b5 and misses Qf3, which attacks black's rook. Notice the rook can't escape and black must give a minor piece for free to avoid having his rook captured, so he plays Nc6. After Q×c6, white is up an entire piece.

The Queen's gambit is a very popular opening, with lot's of attacks and tactics, as well as  positional

play. Comment down below if you enjoyed this or if you have any changes you want me to make. Have

fun playing the queen's gambit and watch out for clever traps!
