My Memorable Games part 4 - naming tactics after the opponent
This is going to be a quick blog.
I have played chess on this website since October of 2013.
As of right now, I have played over 11,000 blitz games and over 1,400 rapid games here.
Needless to say, I have scored quite a few memorable wins during the last 7+ years.
However, I have 2 particular games that I remember fondly to this day, not for the quality of my moves necessarily, but how they ended.
In both cases, I was dead lost and had no business thinking about winning... but win I did, thanks to my opponents' blunders.
Their blunders were memorable enough during the game that I named the tactic or mate after their names.
1. Andrij's Bane
2. andelser's Mate
Of course, these occurred in a blitz game, and games are won and lost like this all the time in blitz.
But nevertheless, I found them very memorable, because it occurred in situations where I was totally expecting to lose.
