Hello!

As many chess fans know, the 2016 Chess Olympiad in Baku started today. As expected, most favored teams won decisively, as higher-rated players showed their expertise and deeper knowledge of the royal game.

From a spectator's standpoint, I hope and think the US will be able to medal, considering how strong their lineup is. I think Sam Shankland on board 4 of the US will hold his own when it comes to the critical matches when he is the "underdog" against 2700s. Hopefully I am not wrong!

There were a few Accelerated Dragon games for round 1, as the Ruy and Najdorf systems are far more popular, nevertheless, I hope you enjoy my analysis of 3 Accelerated Dragon games, a nice followup to my series on the Accelerated Dragon.
