Hi everybody! Smile

If you have been following my blog, you would have seen that I recently had the chance to play four games, earning a 2-2 split. That recap can be found here:

Recently, I got another match vs him. This time, we played 3 min SD instead of 3min + 3s. He picked the control. I find that this faster control was disadvantageous for him, as the difference in level between him and me is in the quality of thought. By eliminating increment, his focus shifts to speed, which I am quite excellent at and it shows in the games.

Game 1:

IM Milanovic likes to open with f4 and a kingside attack. I survive it, but barely.

Game 2:

After an open opening, IM Milanovic crumbled slowly.

The funny thing was that I am using this opportunity to spar with an IM, but he was rated less than me so he was the underdog!

Game 3:

A wild game that involved sacrifices, timely checks, a rook endgame and a theoretical draw.

Game 4:
Playing his pet line 1... Nc6 in response to 1.e4, he sacced an Exchange and seemed on route to victory. He even had more time than me for the first time in the 4 games. However, he slips in the most tragic of ways.
So in the end I beat the "underdog" IM Milanovic. Sounds odd but true. I learned a lot and I am privileged to have this opportunity!
