Usually I send challenges to other clubs that I think we can have a competitive match with. The goal is to win, and get club points.

Consider this before accepting any match (ie we get the challenge from another club).

1. Look at the other team's current matches and see how many players they average. If the opponents have many members in their clubs, they have an advantage if more of their stronger players join games. We only have 212 members of which 10-40 join a game. If the opponent has a stronger average rating than our club (ours is currently 1257), I tend to decline because it means they might have 20 players with Ratings 1500+, and we sometimes have a struggle to get 10.

2. Look at the start date, and see if it clashes with other matches we have. If we have a match that starts Jan 31, and we need enough players, then it's better to focus on getting enough players for that match than to start another match which starts on the same date.

No start date means a match won't show in 'Upcoming Events' and can be left lingering until both teams lock registrations. And then it might start on a date which clashes with another match.

3. Check if we've played the club before (there's a history of all club matches and scores). If we got a bad beating, we might have to think about a rematch before accepting it.
