For those who play fantasy sports, particularly Fantasy Football, this should be very intuitive and easy to understand. But for those who don't, I'll try to explain as best as possible while also not turning it into an essay or anything. So here goes.

Explanation of the game itself

There are 12 teams competing. You have four chess.com chess players in your starting lineup, and three chess players on your bench. For any given week where you set your "starting" players and "bench" players, only the starting players will contribute any points to your team for that week. These are the four player slots in your starting lineup:

Bullet player (BT)
Blitz player (BZ)
Rapid player (R)
FLEX player (any player of any of the three chess types: BT, BZ, R)

In each slot, only players of that specified category can be put in that slot. For example, if a player was a BT player, it could only be fitted into the first or fourth slots (Bullet or FLEX).

These players are attached to actual chess.com players, and the points you receive from them are attached to how they actually perform in real life on chess.com.

How does the points system work?

+0.25pts per BT win
+1.25pts per BZ win
+3.75pts per R win
-0.5pts per 5-loss streak in BT
-2pts per 5-loss streak in BZ
-4.2pts per 3-loss streak in R

Because chess players seem to play most during the weekend, only games they play on Sundays and Saturdays will count. Just like in Fantasy Football, where most of your players play on Sunday.

Wednesday is the waiver deadline.

What's the waiver?

The waiver is basically the "Free Agency" of fantasy sports. If you don't know what a free agency is, look up "free agency NBA (or NFL)" to get an idea of what I'm talking about. This is where Fantasy Chess teams will file "claims" on players who aren't on any team; they're technically "free" players, because they're just on the market, so to speak, and free for any team to pick up.

Waiver priority goes by whomever scored the worst the previous week. For example, let's say @1stPlaze and his team got a total score of 35.55 points last week and I got 65.25 points. And let's say Magnus Carlsen (so, the account, @MagnusCarlsen) had been dropped to the waivers for inactivity. But we hear that Carlsen's going to be playing a chess.com tournament, so everyone is scrambling to pick him up.

If 1st files a claim for Magnus, he's going to have a much higher priority of getting Magnus than me, because my team performed better than him last week and we need a balance. So he'd be the one to get Magnus and I'd have to look at other players in the waivers to pick up instead.

How will everyone get their players at first?

There will be a team draft once all the clubs and teams have been selected, where each team fills up their roster with players from a spreadsheet of chess.com players that I've created (both with usernames and real names next to their PAW [Player Activity Worth]). Draft order will be decided by randomization, then it's snake draft style from there.

TRADES

Any team at any time (before the trade deadline, of course) can trade players and waiver priorities with one another. Now, the ability to trade waiver priorities is something I've added myself and is not traditionally in fantasy sports, so there might be some problems with this. If anyone can think of some way the trading of waiver priorities might go wrong, please let me know in this forum.

However, if there's a general outcry about a bad trade (for example, if a team trades someone with really good PAW to another team for a player who's really not that great, then it's an imbalanced trade and only one team is really getting anything out of it) then there can be a trade veto based off a vote of all the other team managers. An example situation of this is if a team were to be exceptionally dumb and trade @DanielNaroditsky (0.992 PAW) for @Tapuah (0.737 PAW) and their Week 2 Waiver Priority, that would be a very bad trade for the second team and other teams would have the right to hold a vote on whether or not to veto it.

The trade deadline is up until playoffs begin on Week 6.

PLAYOFFS

Playoffs begin Week 10. The top four teams (by record) in the two conferences (East and West) will go to playoffs. First seed against fourth seed, and second seed against third seed. From there, it's a one-round elimination bracket until there are just two teams left who will compete for the Championship win.

Waivers can continue to be used by the competing teams throughout playoffs, and priorities still work the same.

How does this fit into the multi-club scene?

So, 12 teams = 12 clubs competing. Each club will elect a "Head Manager" from their club (preferably someone with fantasy sports experience), but major decisions like trading their star player or accepting a big trade will be decided by that team's club members as a whole in a vote.

So, for example, let's say R2GM elected @EthanJojy as our Head Manager for R2GM's fantasy team. Well, he'd be in charge of filing waiver claims, setting the starting lineup, cutting people from the bench, etc. But for any major decisions, he'd have to take it to an R2GM announcement and get votes and opinions from there, from the rest of the club's members. This way, the club is still involved and then it's not just a game Ethan is playing, but rather, the whole club.

This club is only for the Super Administrators of every club involved as well as the 12 GMs of each team. Every week (once it officially launched), I'll be posting matchup results and screenshots in this club of standings which the admins (or GMs, if they're an admin in their club) will be ordered to post in their own clubs so that their members can stay updated on what's going on with their team in Fantasy Chess.

Every season, the team with the worst score (by record) will be kicked from the league so that a new club has a chance to participate with every new season. The kicked teams can come back, but not until at least one season has gone by since they were booted.
