Thanks for the information on the ChessConnect Chrome Extension. It seems really good! I fired it up against the Maria Bot and actually won playing at 83%+ on a (DGT) board I had not played on in 11 months. So that felt good...

@marc_hamilton Welcome back - I remember you being an active participant in the DGT & chess.com discussion under your old username. The member who was developing DGT Angel stopped updating it a while back. ChessConnect, which is available as both a browser extension and app (andriod fur sure and I think Mac too) is the way to go now. It just works - none of the old headaches :-)

Due to an instant research, It seems like DGT Angel isn't an official DGT software product and hasn't been updated since 2022, so it may not be supported anymore. Have you tried "Chessconnect" instead? By smart board, you mean the one being connected only via USB cable? A bluetooth e-board can certainly be connected both ways!

Have never heard of DGT Angel! I take it's software for running the boards! I have both a bluetooth & a smart board! Is one program better than the other? Also does anyone know if you can plug a bluetooth board in the computer with a cable & use it that way if you wanted?

I'm not sure. It's been awhile since I did anything. I have a DGT board with a serial cable connection. I just checked both the computers I've used it with, and on both, Enable DGT Support was NOT selected., so I'm not sure. I do remember that recently when I switched from a desktop to a laptop, I just plugged the board in and it was recognized. I can poke around some more if you can direct me.

Okay, I've renewed my membership on chess.com after being gone for 11 months. Yeah, I swore I'd never play chess again... Username use to be Hamilton53; now marc_hamilton. Did chess.com ever get the DGT Board functionality figured out??

@AkashKadel most broadcasting sites tend to have anything upto a 20-30 min delay, this is intended to stop players in the tournament from making attempts to cheat via poeple they may have watching the game outside of the venue. i know when i do live broadcasts on lichess, i can either choose to set a delay or leave it turned off, if its turned off, moves are usually transmitted within about 10-15 seconds

Oh, are you using the NZGraham extension? Not familiar with that, You must get Chessconnect from Chrome store. There are loads of voices on there. Oh and it works just about perfectly all of the time. with just about all boards.

@idlesmooth I believe he is talking about the voice options in the chessconnct web browser extension, and not the chess.com voice web browser extension. If you are not using chessconnect with your DGT board you are missing out. I considered my DGT board unusable with chess.com until chessconnect.

Appreciate the reply. However, on the extension itself there is no other choice but to selct default, Danny or OFF. The volume control is at the bottom. As for Chess.com, I am only familiar with the system settings tab. This is where you can also select the DGT board. I see no option to select voice?

When you've selected the voice you want, you have to remember to click OK at the bottom. Sometimes you have to scroll.

I have a blue tooth DGT board and had it working a while ago. I tried chessconnect as well.
Just now
I am able to adjust the setitings to sound and hear the piece when it touches the board however no voice is present to announce the moves
