Aloha Utah! I moved from Moab to Hawaii in 2012 and became their team captain, But I am still rooting for Utah in the US Team Chess League! https://www.ustcl.org While living in Utah (1992-2012) I organized and directed many chess events including some Utah Opens. So I hope you finish strong in the last 3 matches and get promoted to Division 3 next season. Play well and have fun! Damian Nash

Anybody a high school chess coach? I am the advisor of our chess club, Carbon High School, and they would like to play, informally, another high school and learn the ropes of playing in a real high school tournament.
I don't know anything about this, but my wife spotted a poster in the public library in Logan yesterday advertising chess on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM in the Quaking Aspen Room of the Logan Public Library. If any of you Utah chess players are in Cache Valley this evening, stop by for a game. I will be there to check it out.
(Please see previous post- the word limit got me). The first meeting I have to attend is on Aug 21. I intend to be there every Saturday morning until the meeting.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a great chess player. I'm barely a beginner as those few of you who have played me will attest to. If you want a challenging game you should probably bring someone with you. I will provide 3 sets however for people who want to play.
Hey all. I'm working on a proposal to get Provo City to put chess tables in one of its parks. I am pushing for pioneer park but I'm open to suggestions.
I will be at Pioneer Park during the Farmers Market on Saturday with 3 chess sets and a petition. If you want to come and play please do. If you want to sign the petition as well, then great. If you want to do one or the other that's fine as well. I just hope as many of you can come and support my efforts.
