Hello to all members of the group still on chess.com. I'm writing this to gauge who actually logs on to chess.com so that I can start trying to help people prepare for the Junior Open (Nov 5-6). I will be a coach for USM at the event and I would like to start helping people to prepare who want to put in a little of work. I look forward to working with all of the USM team members this year going forward. If this doesn't get enough interest, I will try something else.
Also updated the forum more generally for openings and resources for study, in addition to the post on tactical exercises. I hope to make this a space for chess learning and enjoyment and for people to really engage as a community of chess enthusiasts. I would like to help anyone who is interested to improve their chess, so if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to shoot me a message on chess.com or to post here or in our forums. :)
Hello everyone! I just posted 5 new puzzles in the forum for Tactics. I can post solutions or you all can post your lines in the comments or in a message to me. I'll try to post new tactics at least 3 times a week. Good luck!
Are you guys watching the US Championship? Some very exciting games and commentary: http://www.uschesschamps.com/2015-us-championship-2015-us-womens-championship/information/live
Are people in the group interested in organizing practice games on chess.com? It might be a fun way for everyone to get in practice and to learn new things.
Thanks to all who have recently joined the group. Is there any interest in doing some team comptetions on chess.com. If you guys voice your interests/availability (with respect to time controls and other formats) I can start sending out challenges to other groups. Hope everyone is enjoying chess!
