With almost 300 mainly active members in LTAC, we have become a pretty great team! I can't express the thanks I have to all the people and clubs who helped us grow. So, it's time LTAC turns around and helps the next club in line! If you have a small club that you want to grow, let me know here and we will have a raffle in the club. The winner will be allowed to advertise in forum, announcement, notes, and chat as well as play VC and Daily Matches against LTAC and have the club link and a write up about the club in LTAC's private description which will be left up for a month. Hey everyone! This evening, I have some very happy and possibly sad news to share at the same time. So, as many of you guys know, I pride myself on being a very active and involved chess.com member. In my incredible past few months on here, I have started a club battling league, become a key part of my favorite club on this planet, TCOF, and started LTAC. creating a community with almost 300 members has quite literally changed my life. It has changed the leader I am, the person I am, and the friend I am. Thank you all so much for being a part of it! Well, that paragraph sounded an awful lot like closing statements. Well good news if you like me and bad news if you don't, it's not. I am not leaving. However, a very large change is now taking place in my life that will be taking me away from here a bit more than usual. I am starting college tomorrow. I have been taking online prerequisite courses for the past two months, but I am going to be commuting to the college campus starting tomorrow and will be doing so until May 2023. During this time, I will still be online a fair amount but certainly less and may have less time for handling everything I usually do. Thank you all SO MUCH for all your support and friendship. He is truly amazing. I don't exactly remember where I met him Lol, but he's an amazing person and hard worker. He came up with the idea of the courthouse, and invented it. He is the top judge. He has created a jury, a boot camp with a test that he developed, he is active, and he keeps in constant contact with me. I'm not online? The dude emails me. One of the hardest workers I've ever met. He has so much dedication and respect for someone who doesn't pay him and who he hasn't even met. He has a club, I own it with him. It's called The Bests of the Chess Board, we'd love to have you join us there. He was an admin for a long time, but he worked like a Super Admin. Even though we have no available SA spots right now , I made the decision to promote him anyway because he has earned it. After some more controversy over this, I have decided to make an official court case regarding the #yestocussing movement. This will be an official case judged by myself and @Sban1. the better argument wins. Please comment below if you would like to represent a side and what side you would like to represent.

This is coming early, because of the disaster that the debate ended up being. Personally, I learned nothing from that debate. It was awful. However, some of the candidates showed their true colors and that can be an important aspect. Anyway, you can vote here, best of luck to all the candidates. By the grand majority vote, cussing occasionally is now legal in LTAC and will not result in punishment. I know that people have mixed feelings about this, and I know this change could create some difficulty. So here are a few ground rules. 1. Do not break any chess.com community guidelines 2. While you may swear every once in a while, you may never swear at someone 3. Never use swearing as a form of a threat or violence 4. Be respectful and mindful of how your words may feel to others 5. Do not cuss constantly or for no reason I am allowing this because I know it's 2022 and I want to be as progressive as I can on this matter given that the world is becoming increasingly more ok with swearing. However, if anyone feels unsafe, please do not hesitate to PM me and we can work it out so everyone feels safe. Hey Everyone! Now That we have a good number of clubs interested in participating, I think it's time I share with you all the idea of I have had for a new club competition. so, without further adieu, it will work like this. This idea has it's similarities to MW- and it's drastic differences. This event will take place not on a 9x9 grid, but on a map of Europe in the common era. Each club will get a country to start with. What country each club gets is decided by how large they are. The larger the club, the larger the country they get. The available countries are: Norway Sweden Finland Russia Estonia Latvia Lithuania Belarus Poland Ukraine Moldova Georgia Armenia Azerbaijan Turkey Greece Albania Macedonia Bulgaria Kosovo Serbia Romania Montenegro Bosnia Croatia Hungary Slovenia Slovakia Czech Republic Austria Italy Switzerland Germany Netherlands Belgium Luxembourg Denmark France Spain Portugal The United Kingdom, Iceland, and Ireland are not included because the countries entered must touch each other. This leaves us with 46 countries. The map below gives an example of what the template will look like. Once the event starts, the rules are as follows. Attacks can only be formed between clubs/countries that border each other. For instance, under no circumstances could Greece attack Serbia. As many bordering countries can attack one country as they like at any given time. There is no attack limit on one city. If one country is attacked multiple times and lose one of the matches, then they must retreat to the capital city in their country. If the original club loses more than one match, then the country is occupied by both clubs that defeated it. Then, those clubs must battle for the territory. Once a club has been beaten and has retreated to their capital city, they can perform one aerial attack on any country they like regardless of whether or not they border it. If they win that match, they get the country they attacked. However, if they lose it, they are out of the game entirely. This means that a club must very carefully plot when they want to use their aerial attack. One country cannot attack more than two other countries at a time. For instance, if Russia was attacking Finland and Estonia, it would have to wait for one match to conclude to attack, say, Latvia. If one club is attacking another and they are attacked by another country during the time that they are attacking, the MUST pull out of the country that they are attacking and defend their land. If one country is being attacked, another country can defend it. For instance, if Portugal was being attacked by Spain, the club which occupied Portugal could reach out to say, France, and ask for defense. So long as France wasn't attacking two other countries at that time, French troops could invade Spain in defense of Portugal and Spain would be forced to pull out of Portugal to defend their homeland. Alliances are allowed- but formal. This is an every club for themselves battle. This means that technical alliances cannot be formed. However, in case of a huge club trying to dominate, smaller clubs could band together to defend together. Say the club that occupies Russia starts talking over, Troops from Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, and Azerbaijan could band together and attack Russia. However in the end, these teams must break apart because ultimately only one team wins it all by having all the countries. There is one special rule to this game. Countries that border less than two other countries are allowed one aerial attack. Unlike aerial attacks from a capital city, if the club loses this attack they don't lose anything and still keep their country, they just aren't out. For example, Portugal only borders Spain. And given the size difference, a much larger club will control Spain than Portugal. So, to keep things fair, Portugal would get one aerial attack on any country to have another chance to get closer to the center of the action. Say the club that occupies Portugal performs and aerial attack on Switzerland and wins, the then control Portugal and Switzerland. If they lose, they don't lose Portugal- they still control it- but would have to fight Spain alone or with help to get themselves out of isolated Portugal. If a club attacks another club, they are to send out the challenge to the club they are attacking and message the leader of that club. I will post leaders names once the positions are final. Attacks are NOT NEGOTIABLE. Vote Chess or Daily Matches are permitted. Daily Matches can ONLY be 1 day per move to keep things moving. The match will be cancelled if it is more than 1 day. To enter, a club must have a minimum of 10 members. given how small a minimum that is, anyone who has a club or knows someone with a club, please post a link to that club here. Also, post the "contact admin" or leader of that club. That is the person who will make decisions for that club and who can be reached out to when their club is under attack. The leader does NOT have be the owner of the club, though it does have to be an Admin or Super Admin. Anytime a match starts, the contact admin of the attacking club must PM me the link of the match so I can make it official. So, please give your links and let's have some fun! I don't think this needs to be taken to court. personally, I believe that mild cussing is fine. So, the only thing we can't do is break chess.com community guidelines. The reason for that is because that's not really a rule I can make, it's up to chess.com and we of course don't want this club banned or anything. However, I do believe the day and age has come to loosen up. It's just words after all. So, here are the new cussing rules I feel are appropriate: 1. All abbreviations are allowed. Wth, Wtf, lmao, etc. are all allowed. The only exclusion to that rules is three k's in a row because of the racial meaning behind that. 2. The only words you must fuzz out are the f word and s word. 3. Other than that, please use discretion and respect though I believe all other words are acceptable. At no times is it permitted to be racist, violent, or sexist. These rules may seem wrong to some people- please reach out to me if they do. As a non-christian I am less overall concerned about cussing, though I know there are religious differences that come into play here that could make these rules offensive for some. Personally, I am hoping to work in some way with search and rescue/ police dogs and I am pursuing a career as PA State Trooper or US Park Ranger. What about you guys?
