This is the format CSC 2013 will use. Time control: 2days/move Games/round: 2-4 for each team Number of rounds: 4 rounds Approximated time: 2,5 years. Round 1: 14 teams divided in groups of 3 (4 in 2 groups). Top 2 teams advance Round 2: 9 teams divided in groups of 2 (3 in one group). Winner advance Round 3: 4 teams divided in groups of 2. Winner advance Final round: Winners from round 3 play for champion. Losers from round 3 play for bronze. When there is a tie both teams advance and they will be added to a group in the next round, so groups may contain more players than planned. The rules are the same for all CSC tournaments. Registrationa. Teams applying must have at least 2 contacts that are admins.b. Teams applying must have at least 1 completed vote chess game. However, if a team has only played a few vote chess games, they must prove to the tournament director that they can avoid timeouts.c. Members can only be main or alternate contact for 1 team Gamesa. The team to the left is responsible to make the challange before the deadline (see game settings below)b. The team the right is responsible to accept the challange before the deadlinec. If a team doesn't send or accept challanges within the deadline the other team is responsible to report this and will be declared a win. If no report is done the challenging team looses.d. After the game has started teams should give the links to the games Game policiesa. Players may play for several teams, but is couraged to play for one team.b. Like all other vote chess games cheating is not allowed and may result in disqualification from the tournament.c. Teams on the team removed from rankings list will be disqualified from CSC tournaments. CSC 2012 Brief Format and Setting Qualifier Round: Skipped Round 1: 18 teams divided in groups of three. Top two teams/group advance Round 2: 12 teams divided in groups of three. Top two teams/group advance Round 3: 8 teams divided in groups of two. Winner advance Round 4: 4 teams divided in groups of two. Winner advance Third Place: 2 loosers from Round 4 play for the third place Final Round: 2 teams. Winner is Champion In case of tie breaks both teams advance. In Round 1 and Round 2, groups will contain no more than four teams each and no less than three each. In Round 3 to Final, groups will contain no more than three teams each and no less than two each. Always two games with each opponent, one as white and one as black, at all rounds playing simultaneously. In case of tie in the final round both teams will be awarded the Champion title. The players playing for third place will both end at third place in case of a tie. Games are played at 2 days/move with standard chess opening. Pairings for each round will be based on the elo ratings provided by the Vote Chess ELO Rankings group.
