Hello fellow detroiter's I'm making this post for evveryone to know so if you know someone in this group or any other detriot group that's offline right now please let them know latter. I've though about making a little chess group for those interested where we all actually meet to play and go over each other's game's and other thing's group's do of course we can still do allthat online but sometime's getting a little fresh air is good for the body but if you guys think we should just stick to online that's ok with me just post saying online. Here are the place's we can meet at trying to narrow it down to one. 1.Hart plaza 2.A local park somewhere you can decide 3.All the kings men chess store. 4.I was going to try to ask a library don't know which one yet if where able to go there Any other suggestion's.

Hi everybody, There are currently TWO different groups representing Detroit. This one has NO Super-Admin capable of making major changes. Jaylen still has regular admin power here, so he can start Team Matches or Vote Games, but he also has that same power in DETROIT ROOK CITY (which DOES have a Super, and several other admins). It doesn't make any sense to me to be divided in this way. It's not even like Jaylen and I are competing for who can be the better Detroit group. He's an admin over there too!! It just seems logical to me to consolidate our energy into one group and making it as great as it can be, rather than spreading ourselves so thin that neither group can prosper. DETROIT ROOK CITY has also joined the World Cities League, and we're getting our butts kicked cuz we don't have enuf players to fill the matches. I beg you guys to PLEASE join DETROIT ROOK CITY and play in the City Cup matches so that we can all put Detroit back on the map TOGETHER. Thank you, Bilium

PLEASE READ ALL. A tournament is coming up in detroit that any one may enter on grandriver and Lasher located at the Artist Village. The situation: The artist village chess club that meets every wed and sat is at it's darkest hour. The club director is having massive trouble with the club's rent and now it's on the verge of closing done in a month or so and is in dierer need of more money and it's because of this that the benefit's tournament is being held. Site: Artist Village Rec Center Detroit, MI between GrandRiver & Lasher Time Control: 35min +5 incremnent EF:$5 $10 for experts and above (2000+) Prize: debateable at the moment between a lot of things. I'll keep everyone up to date on more info when it's updated. It's going to possibly be a knouckout event which is rare for amature tournament's so it should be fun. It is a unrated event so everyone can breathe easy. Donations are always appreciated.

We have a team match versus the kings of the castle just go to the group's team matchesand look for the name KINGS OT THE CASTLES FROM DETROIT hope to see a lot of people there I limited to only 9 as starting point so hurry. If we can fill in that number at least I can put more faith into making the size bigger. It'd be great if we get all our heavy hitters in this one.

Hello everyone a team match vs the chess lords is up and we need all are homw hitters. I will be joining aswell and you can join my going to the groups team matches section. I f we could get our top 3 players to join we can actually not only beat the team but beat them with a perfect or almost perfect score !!!! No im saying that like there weak because there not but were strong so come on join guys.

Alright I founat a few people we can challenge but before I send a challenge I need to know who will be commited to it if at least over 10 people will join or are you to buusy with other groups. Need to know ASAP.

for so long we have been inactive but starting now we will do more team matches and vote chess I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to be honest my Internet time is still limited but i have better access to it now and can start doing more for the group first order of business let's get our group noticed i need your help in your spare time could you look under the groups toolbar and find a group that we could have a fair team match (doesn't matter if they have more members as longs as the players on there team ratings don't completely dominate of if we have a team match) with then post there name here and I will challenge them. I am creating a list of things i have planned for the groups future and will keep you updated when I post the list a few days from now. P.S. vote chess will come once we reach a total of 40 or 50 members.

I was thinking of forming a team alliance with pilsen chess house and our group where everyone from our group join's there group (AND DETROIT STILLL OF COURSE) and everyone from there group join us so that we may start more team matches and vote matches since were only keeping a minmum of 2 matches and at least 3 vote matches since we are only at around 20 member's. please give suggestion's on this Idea. PS. We need need mor people to join for the match against the BC chess group.

Michigan loses to Ohio State 21-10. Michigan fumbled the ball, threw interceptions, and certainly did not look like the winningest team in NCAA history. In fact this was our second losing season in a row. We had the longest continuous bowl streak, and longest consecutive winning season streak broken last year, and yet Coach Rodriguez has yet to have a winning season as a Wolverine. Ohio State has now beaten us 6 years in a row, and 8 of the last 9 years (since Jim Tressel took over). I'm throwing together a little music video with today's game footage to express my frustration with my favorite team (it's basically just an excuse to play with my new editing software ). I need the perfect song to accompany the visuals. It can't be too harsh, cuz they're still my favorite team, and always will be no matter what. So something like "Loser" by Beck won't work. Breakdown by Tom Petty? I Missed Again by Genesis? What are your ideas? If I pick your song, I'll mention you in the credits.

Hi everyone, Apparently the Super-Administrator of this group has closed his account. Without a Super who's commited to the group, there's only so much the group can do. Does anybody know of any rated tournament's coming up in detroit or near it like southfield hazel park other or can you find out oh and one last thing it has to be before Nov.22nd.
