Halloween is almost upon us, and that means a new season of The Speed Vote Chess League!!! This group is currently ranked #27 on the Speed Vote Chess Ratings, and so we would love it if you could join us!! There's no better place to find good SVC competition than this league!!! We play Vote Chess at 10-mins per turn. This is an incredibly fast, exciting and intense way to play chess!!! The entire game is played in a single day, with each team making a move every 20 minutes. Since it is so easy to timeout at this speed, these games are scheduled in advance (usually on a Saturday) so that each team can have their players online and ready to play. No one needs to be online for the entire game (although many choose to be), as long as there is SOMEONE online every 20 minutes to make a move. With each team making exactly 3 moves per hour, an average game lasts 8-12 hours, although there have been a few battles that raged for more than a day. Because these games can be so time consuming, each team will only need to play 1 game per month. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! It is the season where the dead appear to live again. Likewise, after the longest off-season in Speed Vote history, the league returns to life with Season 4: The MK vs DC Season First and foremost, I must thank Daws74 for the long hours he put into creating the Vote Chess ELO Ratings!! That played a HUGE part in making up the schedule for this season. Based on his hard work, I think this schedule is as evenly distributed as you could possibly hope for. Next, I must introduce my partners in crime: Alan_Tudor and blackfirestorm666. What they say goes. All 3 of us are on the exact same page as far as making sure everything is fair and fun for everyone. So whenever I'm not online, I trust their judgement completely. Don't take any opponent for granted. Anything can happen on Any Given Saturday. Everyone will be playing 5 games in the regular season. Once per month from November thru March. Each game must be played in the month that it is scheduled in order to count. Everyone has the schedule for the entire season and 2-3 contacts for each group, so there is absolutely no excuse for not playing one game per month. It is the responsibility of the individual groups to schedule and play their required games. The League HQ is not responsible for games that don't get scheduled and will only step in if there is a problem.
