Krishna's earthly pastimes were largely spent in Vrindavana, where He spent HIs youth as a cowherd boy. The eternal Vrindavana (also called Goloka or Krishnaloka) is where people who are devoted to Krishna go when they die and they become one of the Lord's associates there. The cows are called surhabi cows and all the trees are desire trees. Krishna gives so much pleasure to His family and associates that they're not even aware that they are in the presence of the Lord. Krishna is the fullness of the Godhead, and He always appears as a boy or young man even though He is the original being in the universe. The universe is like the rays of the sun that shine from his personal form.

You are a purely spiritual being. The body is material and only exists for a little while, but your soul is eternal, and that is your true identity. Your soul is made from the same eternal substance as God's being. God's total energy is in three parts, His internal, external, and marginal potency. His internal energy is fully alive and eternal, being completely spiritual. Everything that has life relies on this internal energy of the Lord. His external energy is what the physical universe is made out of, everything material including our bodies. This material energy is called maya or illusion and is a dark covering obscuring the spiritual energy. All living entities are called the marginal energy of the Lord, because they are both living and spiritual and are covered by the external illusory energy of the Lord called maya. The purpose of life is to put off the illusory covering of the body by becoming detached from the material manifestation of the Lord's bewildering external energy. This can only be done by fixing the will and the senses in devotional service to Lord Krishna.

It's important to understand what karma is and how it works. Karma is like cause and effect. You desire a reward, so you work for it. As long as you desire something, your work is never done and you cannot rest. Krishna Consciousness gives you the opportunity to work for God without having your heart set on the rewards. All things belong to Krishna. Krishna is beyond the material worlds. It is said that by serving Krishna, one automatically fulfills all of the requirements for living a moral life.

Hi! Welcome to the club "Krishna Consciousness"! I hope you find the other people here fun and engaging and easy to talk to. Krishna Consciousness is a religious movement that really gained a lot of steam in the 1960's and 70's, but it seems to have fizzled out some or at least it doesn't seem as relevant as it was then. At that time, you could see monks in some cities chanting the Hare Krishna mantra trying to get people focused on God realization. That's what Hare Krishna is all about, having a personal relationship with God. I hope you'll stick around long enough to hear about who Krishna is and I hope this club helps you see Him in your life!
